In OilSim you learn by taking on the role as an exploration team, that has entered the emerging petroleum exploration industry in a fictitious archipelago. Your task is to discover economically viable volumes of oil or gas. Your team competes against and collaborates with other teams. By participating you gain an effective insight into the risks and challenges of petroleum exploration. The underlying assumption is that you learn better when you are actively involved in taking crucial decisions rather than just passively receiving information.The emphasis is on getting an overall understanding of the risks and challenges of the business. - Surveys used in exploration
- Licensing rounds
- Farm-in and Partnerships
- Rigs and Sub-contractors
- Reducing uncertainty

To participate all that is required is that you can operate a web browser. Each team has access to two internet connected PC�s. The facilitator will introduce the participants to the simulation, will facilitate the process for the duration of the simulation, and will debrief after the simulation. |
